Tweaks lives in Edit mode. Click Edit in the top toolbar, then the Tweaks tab in the left panel. Once a design has controls, they sit in a bar above the canvas: pick a different option and the canvas re-renders live. No chat round-trip, no prompts, no waiting.
Why this matters
Most design iteration is exploring the same handful of dimensions: theme, density, color direction, layout balance. Tweaks turns those into one-click toggles instead of one-prompt-per-variant. Twenty iterations in twenty clicks rather than twenty chat messages.
Getting controls onto a design
Some designs arrive with Tweaks already: Claude sometimes builds a few while generating, such as an accent colour on a dashboard or board. Others start empty, and the Tweaks tab says so: "This design has no tweakable controls yet." Either way, you add what you need.
Describe a tweak
In the Tweaks tab, type what you want to adjust into Describe a tweak, or click Ideas for suggestions. For example: "make the heading more actionable".
Let Claude build the panel
Claude studies the design and adds two or three controls that change the feel, not single pixel values. It takes a minute or two.
Flip between options
The controls appear as menus in a bar above the canvas. Pick an option and the design updates in place.
Claude picks the dimensions that matter for the design in front of it: a checklist got headline tone, detail level and badge style; a kanban board might get theme and density. Describe the direction you want to explore, and let Claude decide the controls.
What Tweaks replaces
- Asking Claude for variants in chat, one message per option
- Manually re-prompting for each permutation you want to compare
- Screenshotting each state separately for a team review
- Losing context across chat turns when exploring a dimension
When to use chat instead
- The change is structural, not a dimension (adding a sidebar, swapping sections)
- The dimension isn't in Tweaks and you're not sure it's worth adding a control for
- You want to compare two wildly different directions, not tune one
